A Letter from Brice and Courtney

I wanted to thank you for the opportunity this weekend to be part of Hope for Heroes. It was Courtney and I’s first weekend to get away in 6 months since the birth of our son.

The greeting was humbling and the most amazing part for me was how much recognition y’all gave Courtney for the sacrifices she makes as a Law Enforcement spouse. Often that goes unnoticed and it was awesome for her to see that people appreciate and understand the missed holidays, late night phone calls, and unpredictable hours. As we stepped up into the elevator, I remember Courtney shedding some tears and saying “I have never been greeted like that. I felt like it was our wedding day again.” It made her feel special and recognized which was important to me in a time where she constantly has to be cautious about telling people what I do for a living.

We both loved your community and the people in and around your organization. Everywhere we went we were greeted with a smile and amazed with the number of people sacrificing their busy saturday morning to be a part of something special for us. It was an absolutely amazing time and a much needed get away.

Courtney and I would love to get involved and be more active in the organization and look forward to hearing more in the future.

Brice and Courtney, Austin PD
