A Letter from Annie Salinas-Lauer

I wanted to reach out and say thank you so very much for honoring my family and I with a wonderful weekend in Boerne!!! It was such a surprise and was exactly what I needed. And Avery really enjoyed being a guest of honor! My little guy is my biggest blessing and he, unfortunately, has had to see some of the wear and tear that I have endured. For him to see so many people loving and supporting him and his Mama... well, it made my heart happy that he got to experience that, to say the least.

In recent times, being a police officer has had some trying moments. I always try to keep my perspective on why I joined law enforcement. I wanted to be part of making this world better and safer for my family and my community. I knew from a very young age that God had called me public service. I did not, however, realize until I was a young adult that that life of service would be in law enforcement. I can honestly say that this is the best career that I could have chosen for me. there have been times that I have doubted that choice though.

Having the support of you and all of the amazing people that took part in our getaway vacation greeting is what lets me know that I made the right choice. You all are the reason that every police officer puts on their uniform and badge day in and day out. So, even though last weekend was about honoring my sister in blue and I, I want you all to know that it is truly MY honor to serve you.

We had an amazing time meeting everyone and seeing Boerne. We had been trying to take a trip up there just to see the city but couldn't ever find the time. Your gift could not have been more of a blessing! Again, thank you so much to you, the wonderful people who took part in our getaway, and Hope For Heroes. You have no idea how much that meant us!

I would absolutely love to be a part of your efforts moving forward, so please add me to your list.

God bless you all!

Annie Salinas-Lauer
